ABOUT anomie
Anna Jeavons presents a selection of songs from her twenties, about the relentless search for meaning — and someone to kiss.
Anomie is for anyone who feels rootless, emotionally stuck and uncomfortable in their body and brain. It speaks to the disillusionment, alienation and anxiety that sometimes afflicts those trying to make the leap from juvenescence to adulthood – and not quite getting it right.
making anomie
Anomie is made up of 12 curated tracks written by Anna Jeavons over the course of ten years. To bring it to life she teamed up with Melbourne producer Benjamin Stewart (Slowly Slowly), recording the bulk of the vocals in just one-week in Ben’s studio in Fitzroy North.
Collaborating with Adelaide creatives, Anna created a visual universe for the album, featuring things and places that bring her comfort: trees, creeks, bookshops, train stations, city lights at night…
